World Cup Winner Arjun Ranatunga Arrested Over Shooting

The former great and also the World Cup winning skipper for Sri Lanka, Arjun Ranatunga got jailed for involving in a shooting incident. The shoot killed one person and the two others were injured in the scenario. Meanwhile, the incident happened during the political riots that took place in Sri Lanka.

Speaking of the same, Arjun Ranatunga cited he was feared of his life and left no option apart from attacking the people, who tried to kill him. He added even security tried their best to save him but unfortunately, couldn’t hold them.

Recently, Arjun Ranatunga, the country’s Minister for the Development of Petroleum Resources has openly stated they are trying to retrieve belongings from the CPC offices. Perhaps, they might be involved in the attack on him.

“They came to kill me – I state this responsibly – and you can check the CCTV footage,” Ranatunga said. “For the first time, I feared for my life. I thought of my children and my family.”

Ranatunga was immediately rushed off from the premises by the Special Task Force with a helmet and camouflage. Meanwhile, the wounded persons have been taken directly to the nearest hospital.

One of the persons, who struck with the blows has succumbed to death which pushed Arjun Ranatunga behind bars. Meanwhile, the trade union is supporting the victim’s family.

Of late, Ranatunga is getting involved in various cases. Initially, match-fixing claims raised against him and then involved in some political stuff. Meanwhile, in the latest, his leader, Ranil Wickramasinghe, is in the midst of the ongoing political dispute, which made him receive the flak from the people.
