DC vs RR: "Brilliant captaincy by Rishabh Pant" - Twitter reacts as Delhi Capitals defeat Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024

Fans on Twitter reacted after Delhi Capitals kept themselves alive in the playoffs race of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They defeated Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (7th May) to bag their sixth win of the tournament.

Delhi Capitals had a brutal start to their innings, thanks to Jake Fraser-McGurk (50), who played a blinder yet again. Abhishek Porel (65) made sure that things got going at both ends as the hosts had an opening partnership of 60 runs. 

Rajasthan chipped in with quick wickets and was back in the game despite handy contributions from Axar Patel (15) and Rishabh Pant (15) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.  Delhi Capitals lost 5 wickets for 150 and it didn’t seem they would go past 200. 

However, in the end, Tristan Stubbs (41) played a magnificent innings and powered the team to the big total. Based on the collective effort, they posted a total of 221 for six. For Rajasthan Royals, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of three for 24. 

Rajasthan Royals didn’t have the kind of start they wanted in the chase. Yashavi Jaiswal (4) fell on the second ball and after that, Jos Buttler (19)  too couldn’t make a bigger impact. They were reduced to 67/2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

However, after that skipper Sanju Samson (86) took matters into his own hands and played a magnificent innings. He got great support from Riyan Parag (27)  and Shubham Dubey (25) as Rajasthan Royals took complete control of the chase. 

But Delhi Capitals made a strong comeback at the back end and pulled back things incredibly well. They picked quick wickets and restricted Rajasthan Royals to 201, winning the game by 20 runs and claiming their 6th win of the tournament.
