“Outrageous Batting” – Twitter Hails King Virat Kohli As He Smashes Yet Another Fifty In ICC T20 World Cup 2022
Updated - 27 Oct 2022, 04:40 PM
Former India National Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli once again batted brilliantly in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. He smashed a terrific unbeaten half-century in the match against Scott Edwards-led Netherlands National Cricket Team at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday, October 27.
India National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. The Men In Blue were off to a poor start in the match as struggling KL Rahul got dismissed by Paul van Meekeren in the 3rd over for 9. Team India batted slowly in the next few overs and at the end of the powerplay, they were at 32/1.

Then, Virat Kohli had a glorious 73-run partnership in 56 balls with skipper Rohit Sharma. Rohit scored 53 runs off 39 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes, before being cleaned up by Fred Klaassen in the 12th over.
After losing the openers, Virat Kohli kept batting brilliantly and he had yet another sensational partnership with Suryakumar Yadav. They added unbeaten 95 runs in 48 balls to help India post 179/2 on the board.
Virat Kohli, who had single-handedly guided India to a victory in India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 opener against Pakistan, smashed a terrific 62 runs off 44 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, against the Netherlands. This was Kohli’s 7th T20I fifty on Australian soil, which is the most by any visiting player.
With his brilliant batting performance against the Netherlands, Virat Kohli has become the second-leading run-getter in the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament. Also, now he has the most runs in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2022.
Kohli has overall scored 989 runs in T20 World Cups at an average of 89.90 and a strike rate of 132.04. He has smashed 12 half-centuries in T20 World Cups, which is the most by any player in the history of the tournament.
Here’s How Twitter Reacted To Virat Kohli’s Batting Masterclass vs Netherlands:
What a great start to today's match! Back to Back 50s by King Kohli! Congratulations on a marvelous partnership between @ImVkohli and @surya_14kumar?? & @ImRo45 for kickstarting today's match with a bang and scoring a half century ???#INDvsNED #T20WorldCup2022

When you speak of consistency, @imVkohli will stand right at the top there. Top performances from the skipper @ImRo45 and @surya_14kumar, as destructive as always. On to our bowlers now! #INDvNED #T20WorldCup

A powerful display of batting by Rohit, Kohli and the superstar Surya. All depends on the line & length of our bowlers now. India should look to restrict Netherlands under 130 runs. #INDvsNED pic.twitter.com/Ln3i25dQCI

T20 World Cup anywhere is at Virat Kohli's home ground.

Not sure being this slow at the start is a good long term strategy, success here would make em double down. Was absolutely the correct thing to do the other day given wickets lost etc https://t.co/Z1vNiqCUza

Kohli has 1 hundred and six fifties in 16 T20Is in 2022.

Changing Goat to Koat because Kohli = Goat so Kohli of All Time makes more sense
— Sonali (@samtanisonali1) October 27, 2022
He could go on to end his innings in a blaze of boundaries, but for what it's worth, I think Kohli's control percentage (81%) is too high for a T20 innings on a pitch like this. You've got to be taking more chances in the situation he's batted in, and be prepared to look ugly.
