Yashasvi Jaiswal created many records with his innings of 209 against England at Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam during the second Test of the five-match series. India won the toss and elected to bat first and on the first day, it was the Yashasvi Jaiswal show as he scored a brilliant century and ended the day remaining unbeaten on 179. He started the second day’s play aggressively and reached his double century in some style after hitting a six and a four to Shoiab Bashir.

Yashasvi Jaiswal became the third youngest player for India to score a Test double-century and he also ended up scoring more than 50% of the team’s total. No other batter crossed even 50 while Yashasvi Jaiswal reached his double century in just 277 deliveries. India has scored 396 in their first innings and now England needs to trail this total and take a respectable lead against the hosts. Jaiswal scored 209 off 290 deliveries and his innings included 19 fours and seven sixes.

One of the most unique records was created by Yashasvi Jaiswal during his innings of 209 and it was being the only batter to have a double century in Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Cup, and Test Cricket. He is the only player to have a double century in four different forms of first-class cricket. Jaiswal is an excellent red-ball player and is expected to be India’s future superstar. He also scored a century on his Test debut which was against West Indies in Dominica where he scored 171.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s record milestone caught the eyes of the fans as they hailed him as the next big thing in Indian cricket and some of them called him the new prince of cricket. The Royal Challengers Bangalore congratulated him by mentioning his unique feat of scoring a double century in four different First-Class games and added his selfie.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has made his debut for India in two of the three formats and has impressed everyone with his performance in the red-ball format especially. He made his international debut in Tests during India’s tour of the West Indies in July 2023. He smashed his maiden Test hundred on his debut in Dominica against West Indies. As of now, he has amassed 620 runs in 10 innings and has an average of 62 in Test cricket including two fifties and two hundreds.

India had already lost the first Test in Hyderabad which was a shambolic defeat considering India was leading by 190 runs after the first innings and still ended up getting defeated by 28 runs. The Indian team has not lost a single Test series at home since 2012 when they were last defeated by England at home 2-1. Team India is on a 16-series winning streak at home and they would be hoping to win this series to increase the count to 17 while England on the other hand is prepared to repeat 2012.
