Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal again showed his talent on the world stage and slammed another century. Yashasvi achieved the three-figure mark in 122 balls. This was Jaiswal’s second 100-plus score of the series as he slammed a double ton in the second Test match. The left-handed opening batsman was dismissed cheaply in the first innings for just 10 runs, however, this time he held his nerves and reached the 100-run mark.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is turning out to be a blessing for Rohit Sharma and Co. in the Test format. Yashasvi gives that left-hand advantage to the side and also takes on the bowlers from the first ball. He also lifts the pressure from his captain Rohit, who also takes his freedom to play his shots to ensure that India gets a decent opening start.

The start of Day 3 was terrible for England as they lost 2 quick wickets in the space of 18 runs. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow were dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep also got the big fish Ben Duckett for 153 runs and got him caught out by Shubman Gill. English captain Ben Stokes showed some grace and scored 40-odd runs to get the team’s innings back on track.

However, Mohammed Siraj cleaned up the England lower order and ended the innings with a four-wicket haul. Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets whereas, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin ended the innings with 1 wicket each.

India were off to a decent start with openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal adding up 30 runs for the first wicket. However, Rohit, who was the top run scorer in the first innings fell against Joe Root for 19 runs from 28 balls. Since then Jaiswal and Shubman Gill have taken charge of the Indian innings and are currently stable at the crease.
