Dinesh Karthik gave a pat on the back of former Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli while handing the Orange Cap last night.

Virat Kohli saw off Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad in the IPL 2024 run-scoring chart with his important knock against the Gujarat Titans.

RCB picked up their 3rd successive victory at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium and completed a double of wins over Shubman Gill's side just weeks after chasing down 201 runs within 16 overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Mohammed Siraj star as RCB beat GT

During the previous Gujarat Vs Bengaluru fixture, Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Will Jacks played a massive role in the win. But last night Mohammed Siraj, who has been out of form in IPL 2024, fell under the spotlight with his vintage and trademark economical bowling.

Siraj was not the only one who put a stoppage to Gujarat's flow of runs, the likes of Yash Dayal, Cameron Green, and Vijay Kumar also made their presence felt. But the Indian national bowler, who had a terrific performance in IPL 2023, was the one to watch out for.

Siraj quickly got into action after Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to have a bowl first. He picked up 2 important wickets from GT openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha for 2 and 1 and gave away less than 8 runs from his 4 overs. Yash Dayal had even better figures of 2/21 in his 4 overs as he collected the wickets of lower middle-order strikers Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan.

Vijay Kumar got rid of Vijay Shankar and Manav Suthar while Karn Sharma got David Miller and Cameron Green got the best of Sai Sudharsan. None of the Gujarat Titans batters were able to score even 40 runs with Shahrukh Khan, who was run out by Virat Kohli, being the team's highest scorer (37 off 24). GT were eventually bowled out for just 147.

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis then came with the best possible start to their chase. The duo struck at rates of 155 and a massive 177 respectively, adding 92 runs on the board before the RCB skipper left the crease for a score of 64 off 23.

In what should have been an easy run chase, the RCB middle-order made it look like an extremely tough run chase. Will Jacks (1), Rajat Patidar (2), Glenn Maxwell (4), and Cameron Green (1) shared just 8 runs between them. RCB drastically went from 92/1 to 111/5 and it became 117/6 after Noor Ahmed got the edge off Virat Kohli's bat with a subtle googly.

But then Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh stood up for the task and completed the chase with 38 balls to go. Mohammed Siraj was later adjudged as man of the match for scalping figures of 2/29.

Dinesh Karthik wins heart while handing Orange Cap to Virat Kohli

Before the post-match presentation, Dinesh Karthik had a lovely moment with Virat Kohli when handing him the Orange cap. As Karthik put the cap on Kohli's head, the latter seemed to bow down in respect and the wicket-keeper batsman patted his back in appreciation.

The video is going viral all over social media platforms with fans loving DK's gesture and admiration towards Virat Kohli who now has 542 runs.
