Hemang Badani, a former Indian batsman, commented on Yuzvendra Chahal’s exclusion from the team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh. The 17-man squad, which has three finger spinners, does not include the leg-spinner.

After the T20 World Cup 2022, Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were recently a member of the team that visited New Zealand on a white-ball tour.

There is no position in the squad for a possible wrist-spinner because the selection committee listed Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Shahbaz Ahmed as the possibilities for spin bowling.

In light of Team India’s desire to deploy as many players as possible while en route to the ODI World Cup in late 2023, Badani said that Chahal would not especially mind being left off the roster.

“He has been there and done that”: Hemang Badani

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda that Sony Sports set up, Hemang Badani said:

“I believe that everyone would have been addressed. I believe that right now, everyone is essentially on trial. I believe that this is the precise time when India wants to make sure they get a chance to see a large number of players before selecting a starting XI” Hemang Badani said.

“I don’t think anybody like Chahal would be offended because he understands that if they really want him, he will be picked just because he has been there and done that, he knows what it takes to play for the national team, he’s felt the pressure,” Hemang Badani Added.

Team India is touring Bangladesh for a bilateral series for the first time since 2015. The Men in Blue will compete in three ODIs and two Tests over the course of their visit.

The two sides will lock horns across three ODIs and two Tests, beginning on Sunday, December 4.
