Rachin Ravindra's brilliant knock in the ongoing game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings ended in an unfortunate manner as he was run out due to his own mistake.

Set a target of 219 runs, CSK were off to a poor start as they lost the wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell for just 19 runs inside three overs. However, Rachin Ravindra stood firm at one end and made sure that CSK stayed in the hunt. He shared a crucial 66-run stand with Ajinkya Rahane before the latter was dismissed for 33 by Lockie Ferguson.

His new batting partner Shivam Dube struggled to play in his usual manner but he kept the scoreboard ticking at a good pace before being run out. On the final ball of the 13th over, Rachin Ravindra hit Glenn Maxwell's delivery towards deep backward square leg and set off for the run.

Dube wanted the second run and had no hesitation as he quickly turned back for the second run. Rachin Ravindra also looked interested in the second run before stopping and it eventually cost him his wicket. The southpaw was stranded in the middle of the pitch when Dinesh Karthik received the throw and dislodged the bails.

Ravindra departed after scoring 61 runs. His knock came off 37 balls and was studded with five fours and three sixes. At the time of writing this report, CSK were on 134 for 6 in the 16th over. CSK need to score at least 201 runs to qualify for the playoffs. If they fail to touch the 201-run mark, RCB will be the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs.

They will join Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playoffs. RCB's chances of making it to the playoffs looked done and dusted after they lost 7 of their 8 games before they turned their campaign around with 5 wins in a row.
