Indian batting duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have the opportunity to score 300 fours in T20Is when they take the field in the second T20I against England set to be played on July 9, Saturday.

They will join the likes of Paul Stirling, who is the only other batter to have the record. Currently, both Rohit and Virat have 298 fours to their tally in the shortest format of the game.

Ahead of the game, the momentum lies with India having won the first match by a comfortable margin. They put up 198 on the board in the first innings before restricting England to 148 in 20 overs.

Hardik Pandya took home the Player of the Match award for his all-round brilliance. In the first innings, he scored a 33-ball 50 which is incidentally his first in the T20I format.

During the run chase, he picked up four wickets, including the crucial ones of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone. Speaking about the performance, Rohit was quite happy with the way the Baroda all-rounder performed.

It was a great performance from ball one. The batters showed an intent. Hardik prepared himself wonderfully from the IPL. His bowling is something he wanted to do more of.

He came in, bowled quick, and got rewards for his variation. The opening bowlers swung the ball well which stopped England’s batters in the powerplay. We took it into consideration with the toss,” Rohit said after the first match.
