Michael Vaughan, the legendary batsman, has heaped praise on veteran swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar following the UP bowler’s stellar performance in the first T20I against England.

India outplayed England for the entirety of the first T20I, and a key component of their performance was keeping the star-studded top order of the hosts from scoring runs during the powerplay.

In India’s historic 50-run victory over England in the first T20I on Thursday, Hardik Pandya may have won player of the match honors for his outstanding all-around effort, but the visitors’ outstanding performance was made possible by several standout players in both the batting and bowling departments. India now leads the three-match series 1-0 thanks to Pandya’s first century in T20 international play and subsequent four-wicket haul.

Pandya’s dismissals, though, came after India had succeeded in keeping England quiet for the first four overs. This was accomplished for them by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and youngster Arshdeep Singh, the former of whom dismissed the dangerous Jos Buttler for a golden duck in his debut game as England’s full-time white-ball captain.

‘Bhuvneshwar was able to generate prodigious swing’: Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan Feels that Bhuvneshwar was able to produce a tremendous swing, which enabled them to beat the England batsmen.

“India gave the ideal performance. With the bat, there was aggression, and they reached a respectable figure. Next, use your talent while holding the ball in your hand. Within an hour or so, the weather cannot shift so drastically.”

“That is not feasible, in my opinion; the skill was simply exceptional. Bhuvneshwar is among the best swing bowlers. He just got it hooping,” ex-England captain Michael Vaughan commented on Cricbuzz.

After dominating the first game, India will look to seal the deal when they face England in the second T20 International of the three-match series on Saturday at 7:00 PM IST at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.
