IND vs NZ: "Hardik Pandya Can Bring Fearlessness To India T20 Team As Captain"- David Miller

Indian Cricket Team is on roll at the moment as the team won consecutive T20I Series against New Zealand (in 2020 India had won by 5-0 against New Zealand). Skipper Hardik Pandya has been quite instrumental in leadership as he exhibited great leadership skills.

New Zealand would be aiming to start afresh in the upcoming ODI Series which is set to start on 23rd November. This ODI Series is a part of the World Super League as India is placed at the top with 129 points whereas New Zealand at the 6th position with 110 points.

David Miller on Hardik Pandya

David Miller was having an interaction with PTI and was asked about Hardik Pandya. “Just playing under him in the IPL, I feel he is a natural leader, People follow him. He allows you to play the way that you feel like you can. He is very inclusive as a leader, he wants everyone to be close to each other.” said Miller.

“At the same time, he is clear with discipline. He has got a lot of good attributes of a leader. In IPL he got better and better as the season progressed and I see him doing that (with the Indian team as well).Yes. He will make the players a lot better in the mindset. 100 percent. He allows the guys to do what they want to do which is important.” he added.

Crucial Series for India

Senior players like Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli are not a part of the ODI Squad. The likes of Shreyas Iyer & Suryakumar Yadav have a golden chance to stamp their authority against New Zealand. The pitches for ODI series most likely would be batting-friendly.

Head Coach VVS Laxman & Skipper Shikhar Dhawan need to be spot-on with their selection. There are chances that the speedster Umran Malik may get a chance against New Zealand as the pacer has got express pace and is quite immaculate in line and length.  It would be interesting to see how the 1st ODI pans out.
