India women team to visit Sri Lanka in June

India women’s team, who played in the 2022 World Cup as their last appearance in international cricket, will visit Sri Lanka in June-July to play white-ball series – three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals.

The Indian team will participate in the inaugural edition of the women’s T20I tournament in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. India are paired with Australia, Barbados, and Pakistan in Group A.

The tournament will be held between July 29 and August 8, where eight teams will participate and will be divided into two groups – four teams in each.

After the CWG 2022, India will play three T20 Internationals against England followed by three ODIs, the final game of the tour will be held at the Lord’s on September 24.

There won’t be any Test match between the two teams as England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are planning to host the second edition of Women’s Hundred during that period.

In addition, the Australian men’s team is also scheduled to visit India for three-match T20I series in September.

The schedule for the series is not yet confirmed but it is understood that it will be staged in the second half of the month given that Australia will host New Zealand for three ODIs from September 6 to 11.
