If reports are to be believed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is planning to start the 2022 edition of IPL from 27th March. However, the fans are excited to watch out for the mega-auction pans out before that.
For those of you who don’t know, the Mega Auction 2022 is scheduled to be held on 13th and 14th February 2022 in Bangalore. All the eight existing franchises have announced their respective list of retained players.
As far as RCB is concerned, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj are their three retentions. SRH have retained the likes of Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, and Umran Malik, while Rajasthan Royals went for Sanju Samson, Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. Punjab Kings have only retained two players such as Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh.
The new IPL franchises, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, have also announced their list of players acquired from the available pool. Following are the players picked by Ahmedabad and Lucknow.
KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are likely to lead Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises respectively. Lucknow have also picked Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi, while Ahmedabad have acquired the services of Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill.
The rest of the players will find themselves back into the auction pool. As per the data, a total of 1214 players have registered themselves for the mega auctions. It includes 896 Indians and 318 overseas. To further break it down, the list includes 270 capped, 903 uncapped, and 41 Associate players.
IPL 2022 Auction: List of Indian Players Who Have Set Their Base Price at INR 1.5 crores
There are a lot of Indian players who have set their base price at INR 2 crores at the auctions. Players such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ishan Kishan, etc. have all been released by their franchises and, thus have registered themselves under the 1.5 crores bracket.
Having said that, there are some notable Indian cricketers who have set their base price of INR 1.5 Crores.
