Indian Premier League is one of the most entertaining and cash-rich leagues around the world. Over the years many legendary players from all around the globe have been part of the IPL. Few players who are part of the CSK squad are the fan favourites and are legends of the shortest format. Few players in the daddy’s army are in the last phase of their cricket careers and fans might see these three players play the league for the last time in their career.

The performance of players does matter in the IPL. One bad season could end the player’s career in IPL and there are many such instances in the past that we have witnessed where a player who failed in one season never got to play the tournament again. Some of the stalwarts of the league are gone missing in this year’s IPL.

The champion player Dj Bravo who announced his retirement from the national team could potentially be playing his last IPL season as Franchises often look into building a team keeping in mind the future and grooming youngsters. Bravo who is 38 years old has had a glorious IPL career. Bravo is 4 wickets away from becoming all-time leading wicket-taker in IPL.

Bravo could well end his IPL career with this feat. Bravo has been a multi-time purple cap holder. With most teams showing no interest in bidding for Bravo, his team bought him to have his presence and experience in the squad. It’s interesting to see whether champion Bravo decides to put an end to his cricketing career with another title stint with CSK.

Robin Uthappa

Uthappa is in the top 10 list of players with 4000 plus runs in IPL. Uthappa needs another 278 runs to reach the 5000 run mark. He has the opportunity in this year’s IPL to achieve the landmark as this could potentially be the last time that we see Robin Uthappa in IPL. Uthappa who is 36 years old hasn’t performed as expected in the last 3 seasons.

He has been part of three different franchises since IPL 2019. He represented KKR in 2019 and was released by the team and later went on to play for Rajasthan Royals in 2020 and was released by the team finally he was bought by CSK in 2020 and his performances in the IPL 2021 once again proved that “Form is temporary but class is permanent”. If Uthappa fails to perform in this year’s IPL probably this could be the last season that we might witness Robin Uthappa playing in IPL.

The biggest news that could ever be heard is the retirement of MS Dhoni who is often called “Thala” and the pride of Chennai. Dhoni by far is the best captain in the league and as a batsman, Dhoni is closing in on 5000 runs in IPL. Dhoni has scored 4746 runs in IPL and has to score 254 runs more to reach the milestone. He announced his sudden retirement from International Cricket on August 15 2020 which no one expected and you never know that this IPL could be Dhoni’s last IPL as a player.

In the last two seasons, Dhoni hasn’t performed as expected and has failed to finish more matches which are not something that we often see from Dhoni. At the age of 40, he still looks fit than most of the young cricketers. As he always thinks about the future of the team he might retire so that a youngster could get an opportunity,
