IPL 2022: RCB's Recruit Anuj Rawat Says, Every Young Cricketer Aspires Of Playing Alongside Virat Kohli

When the IPL 2022 auction began, a wicket-keeper batsman from Delhi was hooked to the tv screen in his rented accommodation in Janak Puri in Delhi.

Anuj was certain that he would be purchased by some team or another until his turn came by the auctioneer, but he didn’t really expect to become wealthy.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore paid Rs. 3.40 crore for Anuj Rawat, who played for the Rajasthan Royals last season (in 2021). His beginning cap is set at Rs 20 lakh.

“I was expecting a great IPL contract because of my good domestic cricket accomplishments, and I was anticipating a deal for a reasonable amount of money, but I was not expecting such a large bid for me.” (laughs). I’m thrilled, and I’m looking forward to the game for RCB and giving it all best.”

Anuj Rawat spoke about his feelings while playing in the IPL with Virat Kohli:

With RCB as his new IPL home, Anuj is looking forward to fulfilling another long-held dream: playing alongside Virat Kohli.

“Every young cricketer’s ambition is to play with Virat Kohli in the same team. That has always been a dream of mine. I am quite grateful that that dream will be realized this year. When I was at RR, I ran across him (Virat) a few times. When I approached him, he was delighted to speak with me.”

I spoke with him and got some batting advice from him. I told him about my experience. He is regarded as a game legend. I asked him about life in general, not just cricket.

The season kicks off on March 26 and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) play their first game against Punjab Kings in a day-nighter on March 27 at the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai.
