IPL 2022: Shashi Tharoor Wants SRH's Star Umran Malik To Play For India Alongside Jasprit Bumrah In The Coming Days

On Sunday, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s speed prodigy Umran Malik took 4 for 28 against Punjab Kings in IPL 2022. Following his outstanding performance against PBKS, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor advocated for the young J&K star to be called up to the Indian national squad as asap.

Tharoor urges Bumrah and Malik to perform together for India in England.

Umran Malik is competing for a position on the national side. Umran has improved the argument for his participation in the Indian team again with a furious performance in the T20 competition against Punjab Kings on Sunday. Shashi Tharoor, a politician, has joined a chorus of retired cricketers and fans calling for Malik to be given the India cap soon.

India has not boasted a world-class pace attack, but in recent years, the squad’s fast bowlers have wowed the world’s top cricketers. Some of the best bowlers in their respective roles right now include Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Prasidh Krishna, and others.

Several pacemen are contending for 4-5 places in India’s T20 World Cup team, which will be held in Australia this year. Umran believes to be competing at one of those positions, depending on his recent form for Sunrisers.

Though Umran is making huge gains in T20 cricket, Tharoor wishes the young wonder from Jammu and Kashmir to join Jasprit Bumrah in a Test match in England and terrify the hosts with his pace.

Umran bowled a 3-wicket maiden in the 20th over against Punjab Kings. He also became the fourth player in T20 franchise history to deliver a maiden last over of a match in the procedure.
Umran was indeed the match-winner for Hyderabad, who won their fourth match in a row to finish fourth in the points table.
