IPL 2022: Shimron Hetmyer Temporarily Leaves The Bubble To Attend The Birth Of His First Child In Guyana

Rajasthan Royals on Sunday informed that West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer has left the team camp in Mumbai to travel back to Guyana for the birth of his first child. The franchise said that the left-handed batter will be back soon.

The hitter has been in fantastic form for the team this season, providing a much-needed boost to the bottom of the lineup.

The Windies player, who has shown to be a valuable member of his team, is in Guyana to give birth to his first kid.

The Royals announced on their official Twitter account, “We are assisting him (Hetmyer) in whatever manner we can, and our best wishes are with him and his wife Nirvani.”

Hetmyer says in the video, “Hettie here!” Babies only come once in a lifetime, and this will be my first. My belongings are still in the room. I’m only leaving because of an exceptional circumstance. Don’t forget about me; I’ll see you shortly.”

The batter will soon return and join the Rajasthan camp as the tournament enters its business end.

Shimron Hetmyer had an outstanding season:

In 11 IPL 2022 games, Hetmyer has scored 291 runs at an average of 72.75. This season, his best score is 59 not out.

Rajasthan, though, won their previous league game against Punjab Kings and will now face Delhi Capitals in their next match.

Rajasthan had knocked down the 190-run mark with two balls to spare because of Hetmyer’s 16-ball 31 against Punjab, which included three boundaries and two maximums.

Rajasthan Royals are presently in third place in the IPL points standings with 14 points, and they will face Delhi Capitals at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy on Wednesday.
