IPL 2022: It's A New Beginning, Very Excited To Don The Orange Jersey - SRH Batter Rahul Tripathi

The 31-year-old Rahul Tripathi is quite elated to be joining Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the IPL 2022 season. He was bought by the franchise for INR 8.50 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction that was held last month in Bengaluru.
Tripathi attracted a lot of attention at the auction before CSK and SRH were up against each other. It was CSK who finally gave up and Tripathi will now be playing for the orange army. The right-hander looks at it as a new challenge and is ready to embrace whatever comes his way.
“It’s a new beginning. I am very excited to don the orange jersey. IPL has been a great platform for me and for every cricketer. I got the chance to rub shoulders with star players around the world.
“I have got many opportunities and exposure to showcase my talent and this platform has helped me to take my game to another level,” Tripathi said in an exclusive interview with Times of India.

Tripathi is yet to make his debut in international cricket and he wants to utilize the platform the IPL provides to jump on the selectors’ radar. For now, he has a long way to go considering the Indian middle-order is stacked but that doesn’t deter Tripathi by any means.
“There are players who have made it to the Indian side because of the IPL and I am also looking forward to the same. I am really happy to join the Sunrisers Hyderabad. I will try to give my best. I will continue to give my 100%. I am hoping to impress the (national) selectors in the upcoming season.”
“We have a great squad and I am sure Kane will take SRH to a title win. I am ready to bat in any position. If Kane asks me to open, I will and if he asks me to bat in the middle-order, I am ready for that too,” Tripathi further added.
The IPL 2022 season will begin on March 26 and the league phase will be played across four venues in two cities – Mumbai and Pune.
