Jofra Archer, who was acquired by Mumbai Indians for INR 8 crore in the IPL 2022 auction, compares his departure from Rajasthan Royals to Cristiano Ronaldo’s transition from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

Archer has put his faith in himself to succeed in new situations, just like Cristiano did in Spain after leaving England.

The England seamer is looking forward to a new task with the Mumbai Indians after four years with the team. Archer connects his departure from Rajasthan to Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from England in 2009 when the footballer went from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

Despite his inability to play in this year’s IPL, star England pacer Jofra Archer, who was purchased by Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs 8 crore, claimed the team’s “close-knit, family-oriented” structure makes him feel “comfortable” as a new entrant.

The 26-year-old will miss the IPL this year as he recovers from two surgery to address his troublesome right elbow. However, he is already looking forward to joining the franchise in the future.

Jofra Archer Praised Mumbai Indians’ Environment:

Archer remarked in a chat with the Mumbai Indians that a change in environment will help him improve even more because it will provide him with fresh challenges as a cricketer. Archer argued that top-quality players can excel in all conditions and environments, drawing parallels between his relocation to Mumbai and Ronaldo’s move to Madrid.

“A change of setting is beneficial because it allows you to challenge yourself.” It’s fine to perform in your comfort zone, but only when you go away and start performing in a different team, in a different situation, can you begin to rate yourself,” Jofra concluded.
