Hetmyer, who was only allowed to play in the 18th over, blasted an unbroken 27 off 13 deliveries to enable the Royals to reach 152/5 in their allowed 20 overs. Their bowlers, on the other hand, were unable to protect the target, and KKR triumphed by seven wickets with five deliveries to spare.

Aakash Chopra criticized Hetmyer’s batting stance in a video posted on his YouTube channel while analyzing the Rajasthan Royals’ hitting performance. He went on to say:

“The team (RR) achieved 152, and 20 runs were made in the 19th over just when Shimron Hetmyer stepped in and hit a bunch.” But then why did they keep Hetmyer at bay? He only played about ten balls. If you believe that is the right thing to do, God bless you.”

Sanju Samson’s team had a chance to offer Hetmyer out to play in the 14th over, according to the cricketer-turned-commentator. He remarked:

“Why do they behave in this manner? It’s beyond my comprehension. He could have played in the 14th over if you hadn’t kept him away; instead, he only got to bat in the 18th over because there weren’t enough deliveries. To be honest, it appears to me that it is a case of analytical fatigue.”

‘Buttler’s bat was not hitting the ball’: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra, speaking on the remainder of the Rajasthan Royals’ hitters, noted that their starters were unable to get them off to a good start. He elaborated:

“Devdutt Padikkal was fired right away. The fact was that Buttler’s bat was not hitting the ball. There was a twist in the plot when Buttler got out and fell prey to Tim Southee.”

“Sanju Samson performed admirably at the plate. The skipper produced a captain’s knock, which was a little slow and could have been a little faster, but the bowling was excellent.”

In Tata IPL Match 47, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets.
