IPL 2023: Best Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Playing XI For The Tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Harry Brook for Rs 13.25 crore and Mayank Agarwal for Rs 8.25 crore.

After releasing their promising skipper Kane Williamson, SRH are in search of a strong candidate to fill in the captaincy role. The franchise has a great bowling attack, however, they’ll still want someone to accompany spinner Washington Sundar.

Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma was roped in by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. In IPL 2020, he played 8 games but did not have the best numbers to his name. He did reasonably well in IPL 2022, scoring 426 runs in 14 games averaging 30.43 with 2 fifties including his career best of 75 at a strike rate of 133.13. He will open again in IPL 2023 and will look to get some wickets with his off-spin. He had picked 7 scalps so far in 36 IPL games.

Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal was bought by SRH for INR 8.25 Crores in IPL 2023 auctions. Mayank Agarwal had set a base price of INR 1 crore for himself in IPL 2023 auction. Mayank Agarwal was part of the Punjab Kings in IPL 2022.

However, he was released by the team ahead of IPL 2023 auction. Mayank Agarwal led the team in the 2022 edition but could not lead the team to a good show. The right-handed batsman played 13 games in IPL 2022 and scored only 196 runs at an average of 16.33 with 1 fifty. Over the years, he has played 113 matches in the Indian Premier League. At an average of 22.59 and a strike rate of 134+, he has hit 2327 runs in IPL. This includes 1 century and 12 half-centuries.

Rahul Tripathi

Rahul Tripathi played for SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022 scoring 413 runs in 14 games averaging 37.55 with 3 fifties at a strike rate of 158.24. He had played IPL since IPL 2017 and has scored 1798 runs in 76 matches averaging 28.09 at a strike rate of around 140.

Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram, the Proteas batter, joined PBKS as a replacement for England’s Dawid Malan in IPL 2021. He played 6 matches in the IPL 2021 edition and scored 146 runs.

Aiden Markram had a good IPL 2022, scoring 381 runs in 14 games averaging 47.63 at a strike rate of 139.05 with 3 fifties including a career-best 68*, besides picking 1/8 in a match against CSK.

Harry Brook

Harry Brook, an England batter was bought by SRH for INR 13.25 Crores in IPL 2023 auctions. The England batter hadn’t played in IPL before. In only 4 Tests, he had scored 480 runs averaging 80 with 3 tons and 1 fifty besides scoring 372 runs in 20 T20Is averaging 26.57 at a strike rate of 137.77. England’s Harry Brook entered the IPL auction with a base price of INR 1.5 crore.

Glenn Phillips (wk)

Glenn Phillips, the New Zealand keeper,  joined Rajasthan Royals in 2021 as a replacement for Jofra Archer. Glenn Phillips played just 3 matches in that edition of the IPL 2021 scoring 26 runs and averaging 13. He was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for his base price of INR 1.5 crore during the IPL 2022 auction. He will be the SRH keeper in IPL 2023 after releasing of Nicholas Pooran.

Glenn Phillips had an excellent T20 World Cup 2022, managing 201 runs including a ton against Sri Lanka (104) averaging 40.2 in 5 T20Is at a strike rate of 158.27.

Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar, the SRH off-spinner all-rounder, was bought for INR 8.75 crore by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022 auctions. He played only 9 games in IPL 2022 managing 101 runs averaging 14.43 and taking 6 scalps averaging 39.83. In 51 IPL games so far, he has scored 318 runs and taken 33 wickets. He will play a vital role for SRH in IPL 2023.

Washington Sundar got injured during SRH’s clash against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 and couldn’t bowl his full quota of overs due to a torn webbing in his hand. He missed some games.

Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid, the England right-arm leg spinner, was bought by SRH for his base price of INR 2 Crores in IPL 2023 auctions. Adil Rashid was not part of IPL 2022. In IPL 2021, he played for Punjab Kings. He just played 1 match in the season in which he failed to pick any wicket.

In his 3 overs, the right-arm spinner conceded 35 runs and emerged costly at an economy rate of 11.66. He will be the one spinner to look out for in IPL 2023.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Indian medium pacer, has been one of the leading wicket-takers for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has picked 154 scalps in 146 IPL games averaging 25.79. He had played for SRH since IPL 2014 after playing, for now, defunct Pune Warriors.

He had picked 130 scalps for SRH in 115 matches averaging 25.02 including his career-best figures of 5/19. He will be the one pacer to look out for in IPL 2023.

Umran Malik

Umran Malik, the tearaway express pacer of SRH, has also played for India after a successful stint for the Hyderabad franchise in IPL 2022 where he picked 22 scalps from 14 games averaging 20.18 including career-best figures of 5/25. He has picked 24 scalps from 17 matches so far averaging 22.5.  He will be the one pacer to look out for in IPL 2023.

T Natarajan

T Natarajan, the left-arm pace bowler from SRH, renowned for his yorkers at the death, played just 2 games in the IPL 2021 and missed the rest of the season due to an injury. He however did well in IPL 2022, picking up 18 scalps in 11 games averaging 22.56 including a career-best figure of 3/10.

In the 2020 IPL edition though, T Natarajan put up a breakthrough performance picking up 16 wickets in 16 games. His bowling abilities earned him a T20I & ODI call-up in Australia and was soon drafted into the Test fold as well in 2020-2021. However, he wasn’t recalled again despite good performances in IPL 2022. He will be the one pacer to look out for in IPL 2023.
