The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Indian Premier League (IPL) have their own old stories, and that seems not to have changed even in the ongoing 17th edition of the cash-rich T20 league.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been facing considerable challenges and struggles to deliver positive results in the ongoing IPL 2024 despite having world-class players in their ranks.

From batting to fielding and bowling, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been struggling in all three departments, resulting in them managing to win a single game from their seven outings in the ongoing IPL 2024 amidst the high expectations from the fans.

RCB's all-round struggles continue in the IPL 2024

One of the primary areas of concern for RCB has been their batting inconsistency. While they boast some of the most explosive batters in the squad, including the likes of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf Du Plessis, along with Cameron Green, the RCB is struggling to string together significant partnerships and put up big totals on the scoreboard.

This inconsistency led RCB to fail to capitalize on strong starts or chase down challenging targets in the ongoing tournament. Additionally, RCB's bowling attack has not yet made any impact; they have failed to pick up crucial wickets at crucial moments in matches.

RCB has been leaking a lot of runs and has failed to apply constant pressure to the batters. Moreover, RCB's fielding has been another area of concern, missing a lot of opportunities in the field, which has cost them dearly in crucial moments of matches in the ongoing IPL 2024.

However, with the talent and experience in their squad, RCB has the potential to bounce back and make a strong comeback in the ongoing IPL 2024; until then, they are just meme material for the fans.

Abhinav Mukund trolls RCB

Meanwhile, former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Abhinav Mukund brutally mocked the RCB after they suffered a 25-run defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Bengaluru.

The RCB rested the big and expensive stars like Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Alzarri Joseph, and Mohammed Siraj for the match, and they could manage only 262/7 while chasing 287 for a win against the SRH.

After watching the drama, Abhinav Mukund couldn't help but mock the RCB franchise by saying, “17.5+11.5+11+7 crore on the bench for RCB,” referring to Green, Joseph, Maxwell, and Siraj.

However, after the match, Maxwell revealed that he decided to withdraw from the team, citing mental and physical fatigue. Maxwell badly failed to deliver in the six matches he has played so far this season, as he could score only 32 runs at an average of 5.33.

The RCB is presently sitting at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table with only 2 points, and now they have to win all their remaining games if they want to qualify for the knockouts. RCB will next face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on April 21 in the ongoing IPL 2024.
