Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders are locking horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 10th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).

The two-time IPL champions began their journey in the competition with a thrilling win over Sunrisers Hyderabad last week and would be looking to extend their winning start. KKR beat RCB in both the games between the two sides last year and would start the upcoming game as favorites.

On the other hand, their opponents RCB were off to a losing start in IPL 2024. The Bengaluru-based outfit lost the tournament-opener against Chennai Super Kings before opening their account with a thrilling win over Punjab Kings earlier this week. The home side will be looking to make the most of the momentum.

With both teams entering the game on the back of a win, the upcoming contest promises to be an exciting one. However, the start of the game was marked by a hilarious incident involving KKR captain Shreyas Iyer. The incident took place when he was asked about KKR’s playing XI at the toss.

Shreyas Iyer came to the toss with two team sheets. The KKR team management probably prepared two playing elevens for different scenarios depending on the outcome of the toss. However, Shreyas Iyer was not sure about which team to submit as he hilariously admitted it at the toss.

“We are going to bowl first. Had a brief chat with the curator, she was like the ball will spin as well. (Morale) It is fantastic, everyone is in high spirits. We have to carry forward the same momentum. It is important to be in the present.

“My role is to play an anchor role. It’s always good to have a lethal bowling line-up. It is important to stay in the present. We have to see to it that we capitalize on the start.

“The bowling – Anukul comes in. I am seriously confused. There are two teams given to me,” he added.
