India’s senior fast bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a major concern as he could not land his yorkers in the death overs. His performance in the last T20 series against Australia was disappointing.

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria feels India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will not be the “ideal option for death overs” at next month’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Won’t Be Useful – Danish Kaneria

Kaneria said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar is struggling with his form and won’t be useful when there is no swing on offer.

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar has gone for plenty in his last few outings,” Kaneria said on his YouTube channel.

“The Indian team cannot rely on him. He won’t be useful in conditions where there is no swing on offer. You won’t get much swing in Australia and the matches are expected to be played on hard tracks. He is struggling with his form and won’t be the ideal option for death overs.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Is Playing Too Much Cricket – Sanjay Manjrekar

Concerns have been raised over Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s death-over bowling. He leaked 19 runs in the final over against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, costing India matches during the recently concluded Asia Cup. He was hammered for 52 runs and went wicketless in the first T20I against Australia in Mohali. Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar recently blamed fatigue for a dip in Bhuvneshwar’s form.

“With Bhuvneshwar Kumar, it’s never a very simple answer but you’ve got to give one of the simple answers and one of the main reasons why Bhuvi seems to be off the boil – is playing too much cricket. In the sense, that he’s played all the matches coming into this series as well,” Manjrekar said while speaking on SPORTS18’s daily sports news show SPORTS OVER THE TOP.

“The Bhuvneshwar Kumar I have seen over the years, he’s not one of the strongest guys going around, he’s not somebody who takes a lot of workloads, he plays one format and hardly any other. He’s somebody if you notice, barring injury, if he comes later a break to play in any tournament, he’s at his best in the first few games.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been heavily criticized on social media for his form, but the Indian captain Rohit Sharma has said that the entire team is behind the experienced bowler.
