When the two teams meet on Sunday at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, South Africa will try to grab a 2-0 lead in the ongoing five-match T20I series against India. The Proteas had outclassed the hosts by seven wickets in the opening game of the series, chasing down 212 with seven wickets in hand and five balls to spare.

Quinton de Kock is on the verge of becoming only the second wicketkeeper in the shortest format of the game to grab 50 catches.

Quinton de Kock is one catch away from reaching 50 catches in T20Is, and if he does, he would join MS Dhoni as the second wicketkeeper to do so.

India scored 211/4 in 20 overs in the first T20I, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s 76-run effort. Hardik Pandya added a quickfire 31 from 12 balls to push India’s total above 200 runs. Pant and Iyer too had chipped in with important runs.

The total however proved to be not enough, as Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller put up 131 runs for the fourth wicket, which ended India’s chances of becoming the team with the most consecutive T20I victories. It halted India’s streak of 12 wins in a row.

On 75 and 64, respectively, Dussen and Miller stayed unbeaten. In the 16th over of the innings, Shreyas Iyer fumbled Dussen’s catch, and the right-handed hitter made the hosts pay in the end overs. At that time Dussen was not even going run a ball but after the dropped catch he found his range and went after Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the slog overs.
