IND vs SA: Wayne Parnell Believes India Will Definitely Bounce Back In India vs South Africa 2nd T20I In Cuttack

South Africa all-rounder Wayne Parnell believes that the Indian team will bounce back in IND vs SA 2nd ODI in Cuttack. India and South Africa are set to lock horns in the 2nd T20I of the ongoing series. The match takes place on June 12 (Sunday) at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

India is 0-1 down in the series after losing the opening game. South Africa defeated India in the 1st T20I by 7 wickets. Chasing a mammoth 212-run target set by India, South Africa managed to grab victory with unbeaten fifties by David Miller (64*) and Rassie van der Dussen (75*).

India Will Definitely Bounce Back: Wayne Parnell

Speaking ahead of IND vs SA 2nd T20I, Wayne Parnell said that he feels India will definitely bounce back in the 2nd game as they are a quality side.

“I think this match is going to be crucial. India will definitely bounce back, they are a quality side. We don’t expect anything less. I think every single game till Bangalore will be very, very tough. Obviously, it was a great win the other night, we can take a lot of confidence from that, but it’s a brand new venue, new conditions, so we need to adapt and start work”, Parnell said.

Parnell also stressed that bowlers will find it a difficult time in Cuttack during IND vs SA 2nd T20I.

“The conditions here probably favour run-scoring more. It is just about what we are going to get on that particular day. It did swing around a little bit so maybe we can use that to our advantage but it’s difficult to assess. I think tomorrow it will be the same — it will be difficult for us as bowlers.

Wayne Parnell also pointed out that some players from the squad were part of the two-month-long IPL 2022 and it is important for them to remain mentally fresh during the IND vs SA T20I series.

“It’s important to get them fresh and ready for the matches, it’s been 10-12 weeks in the IPL with a lot of time in the bubble. Getting guys mentally ready is going to be key for us”, Wayne Parnell added.

David Miller, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Rassie van der Dussen, and Anrich Nortje are the five players from the squad who were part of the IPL 2022. Wayne Parnell has made a comeback to the T20I squad after a gap of 5 years. In the 1st T20I, he picked 1 wicket in his 4 overs while conceding 32 runs.
