IND vs SA: Watch - Keshav Maharaj Gets Rishabh Pant Again As Pant Fails To Hit A Wide One

Rishabh Pant’s luck with the toss in the series has been abysmal as he lost his 4th toss in a row. India were once again put to bat first.

India went in with an unchanged team while South Africa included Marco Jansen Lungi Ngidi and Quinton de Kock.

India did not get to a good start as Ngidi got rid of Ruturaj Gaikwad early. Marco Jansen accounted for Shreyas Iyer’s wicket. Ishan Kishan too was dismissed cheaply right after the powerplay as he tried to play a cheeky shot against Anrich Nortje.

India In Trouble As They Lost Quick Wickets

Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya then added 41 runs but those runs came at a snail’s pace.

Pant was dropped by Keshav Maharaj in the over of Tabraiz Shamsi but in the very next over Maharaj got the wicket of Pant once again in the series.

Pant played a rather rash shot. The plan was to put pressure on the bowler, but Pant chose the wrong ball to attack. The ball was considerably outside of his hitting arc and off-stump. If he would have left it, it would have been wide, but he chose to smack this over the off-side. To tell you the whole tale, South Africa has bowled Rishabh Pant wide of the off-stump in each of the four games of this series. It was caught three times near the cover area, and this time he was caught at the short third guy. Pant left the field dissatisfied.

Maharaj’s reaction after dismissing Pant told a tale as their South Africa’s plan worked once again. Sunil Gavaskar on commentary rightly said, “Pant has not learned from his mistakes”.
