Sri Lanka are yet to win a single game on the tour to India. They were beaten 3-0 in the T20 series and are currently trailing by a margin of 1-0 in the two-match Test series. Sri Lanka lost the first Test match by an innings and 222 runs.
Their confidence wouldn’t be too high but they would be hoping to end the tour with a win. The second Test is scheduled to be played from 12th to 16th March 2022. Here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of the Sri Lanka Cricket Team for the second Test match.
IND vs SL: Sri Lanka’s Predicted Playing XI Against India, India vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test
Openers: D Karunaratne and Thirimanne

Both showed some resistance in their second innings but couldn’t convert the start into big scores. Karunaratne scored 28 runs in 71 balls, while Thirimanne amassed 17 off 60 deliveries. With so much experience under their belt, you expect them to dish out better performances with the bat.
Middle-Order: Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Asalanka and Dickwella

All are talented batsmen. Nissanka scored a half-century in the second innings but couldn’t replicate a similar knock in the third innings. Pathum Nissanka has been ruled out of the 2nd Test. Besides, the likes of Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dickwella and Asalanka got started but failed to convert. Going into the second Test, the middle-order will be key to Sri Lanka’s fortune and all these five batsmen need to come up with substantial contributions with the bat.
