Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has urged Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar to ask his batsmen to use the batting crease more following the visitors humiliating loss against England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Meanwhile, the Three Lions rode on their seamers to go 2-0 up at Lord’s beating India by an innings and 159 runs. Chris Woakes, who replaced Ben Stokes, was the star of the one-sided show. His all-round show with both and ball got him the man of the match award.

Woakes bagged four wickets in total including the prized wicket of India skipper Virat Kohli in the first innings. He came then and scored 137* runs, to bring his first Test century, to put England on the driver seat. James Anderson contributed equally returning with nine wickets in all.

However, it was the same old story for the Indian batters in seaming wickets. They once again struggled to put in an improved effort as they suffered another humiliating defeat. Ravichandran Ashwin was the highest scorer for India in both the innings which shows sign how much the top-order needs to improve.

The visitors have used two different opening combinations, however, both have struggled which has halted their chances. They need to sort things ahead of the third Test in an attempt to save the series.

The former cricketer turned commentator took to Twitter to help out India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar. He urged Bangar to ask his batsmen to use the batting crease more while batting.

Sanjay Manjrekar feels it will have a surprise gift for the batsmen from India, who has so far struggled against England bowlers.

Sanjay Bangar must ask his batsmen to check out the space inside the batting crease and use it more, like Ashwin does. It will have surprise gifts for his batsmen,” Manjrekar tweeted.
