Indian National Cricket Team have begun their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign in style with two wins from two games beating formidable South Africa and Australia sides. As they gear up for their next clash against New Zealand, India received a massive blow with their star batsman Shikhar Dhawan ruled out for three weeks due to injury. However, Dhawan seemed high on confidence as he posted an inspiring quote on Twitter saying that he will bounce back stronger.

Dhawan finally responds on his injury

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan copped up a blow while batting against Australia. A rising delivery from Aussie pacer Pat Cummins took Dhawan by surprise as it hit on his thumb. Despite looking in in significant pain, Dhawan amassed 117 runs off 109 balls as the Men in Blues posted 352 runs in their 50 overs. However, Shikhar Dhawan didn’t return on the field in the second innings as Ravindra Jadeja fielded the entire 50 overs.

The swashbuckling opener underwent scans earlier today, and the reports suggest that he has a fracture on his finger. Shikhar Dhawan will, therefore, not be able to play India’s upcoming matches against New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, West Indies and England – all these matches are scheduled to be played in June. However, BCCI have decided to keep him with the team and assess his injury before taking a final call on the replacement.

While many have talked on Shikhar Dhawan injury since yesterday, the swashbuckling batter has finally responded since copping up the blow in his finger. The Delhi cricketer posted an inspiring couplet which said the confidence is still there and he will bounce back stronger post-injury.

“Kabhi mehek ki tarah hum gulon se udte hain… Kabhi dhuyein ki tarah hum parbaton se udte hain… Ye kainchiyaan humein udne se khaak rokengi… Ke hum paron se nahin hoslon se udte hain… #DrRahatIndori Ji,” Shikhar Dhawan tweeted.
