The KKR vs MI reverse fixture of IPL 2024 will be played in Kolkata on Saturday, May 11. This is the second meeting between the two sides with KKR looking to secure their playoff spot with a win at home.

KKR vs MI Team Analysis

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR are on a three-match winning streak heading into this game, winning against DC, MI, and LSG. They defended 169 in their previous game against MI and defended 235 against LSG at the Ekana stadium.

These two wins away from home will particularly give the team a lot of confidence. The side seems to be peaking at the right time with their batting and bowling depth and would like to end their home season with a win.

Mumbai Indians

A win against SRH has helped Mumbai Indians pick themselves up to the ninth position on the points table. An unbeaten ton from SKY helped MI down SRH with their bowlers delivering for them in the game.

Ishan Kishan and especially Rohit Sharma was dismissed cheaply which will be a concern for him heading into the T20 World Cup. He will be back at a venue where he is an IPL ton and hence this will give him some confidence. MI can surely play spoilsport in KKR's campaign if they win this game.

KKR vs MI  Key Factors

Pitch Conditions

The Eden Gardens pitch has produced a lot of runs this season. Every time KKR batted first they have scored above 200.

Punjab Kings chased down 261 against KKR which is now the highest chase in IPL history. In the final game this year in Kolkata, the conditions are expected to remain the same and this might be another high-scoring game.

Form and Fitness

Form-wise KKR players are in good form with their batters scoring runs and bowlers taking wickets. Sunil Narine's form with the bat this season has been a blessing in disguise for KKR.

Phil Salt also has been consistent. The KKR bowlers have backed their batters well. Nitish Rana is reportedly fit but KKR is still playing with the same combination.

Speaking off MI, Rohit Sharma's form heading into this World Cup is a concern. He has not scored too many runs in his last five innings.

He scored 12 and 4 in his last two innings. The bowlers have been doing a good job and Hardik Pandya taking three wickets in the last match came as a blessing. There are no injury concerns in either camp.

Tactical Acumen

Shreyas Iyer has been losing the toss but winning games as of now. He is making decent contributions with the bat and has used his bowlers well in the last three games that KKR won.

Speaking about Hardik Pandya, he led MI well in the last match against SRh rotating his bowlers well. With the bat, he has not found too many runs this season.
