India leapfrog Australia to reach the top of the ICC Test Rankings

In the recently revealed ICC Test rankings, India have leapfrogged the previous no.1 team Australia to climb to the top of the leaderboard.

Ahead of next month’s World Test Championship (WTC) final between two teams, the yearly ICC rankings see the Asian nation pip the Kangaroos to reach the mountain top, ending their 15-month-long reign at the no.1 spot.

The current WTC Final runner-ups had 119 rating points before their four-Test series against the Aussies earlier this year. But winning it 2-1 has nudged them to 121. Australia previously had 122, but their slip to 116 meant enabled the change in rankings.
