IPL 2018: Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane Becomes First Player Of Associate Nation To Be Sold In IPL Auction

Nepal leg-spinner, Sandeep Lamichhane, became the first player of an associate nation to attract a bid in the ongoing IPL auction. He was bought by Delhi Daredevils for an amount of Rs 20 Lakh, which is his base price.

A per a report in The Hindu had suggested that his name was not in the list of 1022 players that was released by IPL a few weeks back and his name was added later. With Delhi Daredevils only franchise who showed interest in him, it can be assumed that Delhi Daredevils would have asked for the addition of Lamichhane on the auction list.

The 17-year old leg-spinner has played a total of nine List A game till now where he has scalped 12 wickets. In 2016, he was invited by Michael Clarke, the former Aussie skipper, to train in Australia.

Meanwhile, Tymal Mills and Andrew Tye drew attention on the second day for different reasons. While Mills could not find a buyer for himself, Tye was bought by Kings XI Punjab for an amount of Rs 7.20 Crore.
