The Women’s IPL (WIPL) is considered to change the face of Women’s Cricket. The Indian Women’s Cricket Team would be quite delighted as this league would make them ready for tough scenarios. The Women in Blue haven’t been able to win key moments of the match which has hurt them.

The WIPL is scheduled to take place in March after the conclusion of the Women’s T20 WC. The specialty of this league is that BCCI has allowed a team to field 5 overseas players (where 1 player needs to be from an associate nation) where we can see riveting action.

CSK, MI & Others Show Interest in WIPL

8 out of the 10 IPL franchises have shown interest in buying the WIPL teams where Royal Challengers Bangalore & Lucknow Super Giants have not bought the tender document. Apart from these 8 franchises, it is reported that Manchester United owners are keen to buy the team. BCCI has shortlisted 10 cities for the teams,

Delight for India Women’s Cricket

Many cricketers & experts believe that this league can empower the Women’s Cricket. It would be interesting to see how many teams are owned by the IPL franchises. Former Cricketers have raised their voice against having only 5 teams for the competition.

Recently, the Women in Blue lost the T20I series against Australia in India by 4-1 where they showed a lot of promise but they couldn’t find a proper & reliable finisher. This problem has been going on from quite some time as every-time the top order won’t bail out the team.
