Pakistan face England in the second ODI to be played at Lord’s Saturday. It’s a must-win game for them having lost the first ODI on Thursday. The sides will play six games in a space of 12 days between July 8-20. This is Pakistans second visit to the UK in 12 months. They last toured England between July-September 2020 for a limited-overs series which they lost.

Pakitan’s ODI record against England in England is not one to be proud of/ They have won just 16 of the 49 games played so far in the country. The win in the first ODI was England’s 31 against Pakistan in England. It was also England’s fifth straight win against their opposition in the last six games.

In the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, England are topping the table with 75 points while Pakistan have dropped a place down to the fourth spot with 40 points.

Lord’s has hosted 67 ODIs till date with nothing to choose from either batting first or second. 31 games have been won batting first while 32 by batting second. It suggests that the pitch here is good for competitive cricket with runs and wickets in store. The bowlers will get a decent pace and swing as well if they bend their backs. The average first innings score at this venue is 240 batting first and 217 while chasing.

It has been raining at Lord’s for the last 48 hours however, the weather prediction is better for the game on Saturday. The sun is expected to shine bright with the weather hovering between 29 to 35 degrees. It will be partly sunny in the afternoon as per Accuweather. With the threat of cyclone Elsa, there is a red alert for flash floods.
