Speaking on RCB Podcast Glenn Maxwell made a revelation on the biggest mistake of his career. He said that he took his talent and skill for granted and he didn’t take a few tournaments seriously.

“Probably not taking a few tournaments seriously, as I probably should have. I probably did waste my time a little bit.

“I wasn’t as focused or wasn’t as driven to be the best or so. I was just there to make up the numbers. And there were times when I was called upon afterwards, I probably wasn’t just not prepared.

“And as I said, these are all the learning experiences that I have had over these years. I definitely took the talent and skill that I had just for granted, that’s all,” he said in a clip shared by the Royal Challengers Bangalore of the podcast on their official Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, Maxwell, who has been part of Australia’s 50-over World Cup and 20-over World Cup-winning squads, has played 116 ODIs and scored 3230 runs at an average of 34.4 and a strike rate of 125.4.

In 84 T20Is he has scored 1982 runs at an average of 31.0 and a strike rate of 154.0. Also, he has played 7 Tests in which he has scored 339 runs at an average of 26.1.
