Sourav Ganguly’s tenure as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president ended on October 18, and former Indian all-rounder and 1983 World Cup winner Roger Binny was unanimously elected as the new president of the board. There were reports that Sourav Ganguly would contest for the post of CAB president, but he refused to participate.

The former Indian captain revealed that he will return as the club director of ATK Mohun Bagan and that he has fond memories of playing for the ISL club.

The 50-year-old stepped down from the board of directors of ATK-Mohun Bagan, the Sanjeev Goenka-owned ISL club, in October 2021. He had to resign from his post when he became President of the BCCI to avoid a conflict of interest.
