Mumbai Indians star Ishan Kisha has been 10 percent of his match fees for violating the ICC Code of Conduct during the game against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday (April 27).

In a statement released after the game, the IPL stated that the batsman committed a Level 1 offence and has admitted to the offence as well. The wicketkeeper-batsman has also accepted the match referee's sanction. As per reports, Ishan Kishan has been sanctioned and fined for abuse of 'cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment' during the game against Delhi Capitals.

"Mr Ishan Kishan, Wicketkeeper-batter, Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded and fined 10 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 43 of the TΑΤΑ Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on April 27, 2024," stated the release.

"Kishan committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee's sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding," added the statement.

Ishan Kishan flops as Mumbai Indians lose:

Talking about the game, Mumbai Indians' slim playoffs chances took a huge blow as they suffered a 10-run loss against Delhi Capitals. Asked to bat first, DC scored a mammoth total of 257 for 4 in 20 overs. Jake Fraser-McGurk starred with the ball for the hosts, smashing 84 runs off just 27 balls with the help of 11 fours and six sixes.

In reply, Mumbai Indians came up with a good effort but eventually fell short by 10 runs as they finished on 247/7. Tilak Varma top-scored for the five-time IPL champions, scoring 63 off 32. As far as Ishan Kishan is concerned, he failed to get going and was out for only 20.

Mumbai Indians now have three wins and six defeats from nine games and look set to miss out on the playoffs. They need a remarkable turnaround to qualify for the next round. Another slip-up could very well rule them out of the playoffs race.
