Ireland Playing 11 vs India- 3rd T20I, India tour of Ireland 2023. Ireland take on India in the third and final T20I in Dublin on Wednesday. The match starts from 7.30 am IST which is 3 pm local time. Having lost the series, Ireland are looking for a consolation win.

The Irish batters underperformed in the first T20I putting up a paltry total of 139/7 in their 20 overs. In the second T2-0I, they managed to score 152/8 in response to India’s target of 186. They will need to come up with a much better effort in the third T20I. Ireland are as low as 12th in the ICC T20I rankings and yet to win a T20I or ODI match against India.

Paul Stirling will lead Ireland. He has taken over the T20I captaincy from Andrew Balbirnie. Harry Tector along with Stirling and Balbirnie form the batting core. Among the bowlers, Josh Little with his recent IPL experience will be the bowler to watch out for. Along with him, Barry McCarthy, Mark Adair, and Craig Young form the bowling group.

The batting group led by skipper Stirling needs to come up with a better performance in the second T20I. None of their top-order batters scored above 20 in the second T20I barring former skipper Andrew Balbirnie who scored 72 in a losing cause. With 131 games, Stirling is the most capped T20I player for Ireland. He scored just 11 off 11 balls in the first T20I and scored a duck in the second. He needs to play a big innings if Ireland are to win the third T20I.

Andrew Balbirnie

Balbirnie will open the batting with Stirling. He has played 93 T20I games with over 2000- T20I runs. A lot will depend on the opening combination of Stirling and Balbirnie. He was Ireland’s skipper in the previous T20 World Cup. He scored 72 in a losing cause in the second T20I.

Lorcan Tucker (WK)

Tucker will slot in at three. He is the keeper-batter in the playing Xi. He plays aggressively and scores quick runs. Unfortunately, he scored ducks in the first two T20Is.

Harry Tector

Tector will bat at four. He is the next batting superstar for Ireland. He is just 23 years annd has already played 63 T20Is for the national side. The right-hander needs to score runs in the third T20I after scoring just seven in the second.

Curtis Campher

The all-rounder Curtis Campher will bat at five. He scored 39 and added a key stand of over 50 runs with Barry McCarthy in the first T20I. In the second he scored just 18. Campher is also a dependable bowler for the side.

George Dockrell

Dockrell is another all-rounded who will slot in at six. He scored just one in the first T20I. Dockrell has played 123 T20Is and is the second-most capped player in the side. He made his T20I debut back in 2010. He scored 13 in the second T20I.

Mark Adair

Adair is one of the four pacers Ireland played in the first T20I. He scored a run-a-ball 16 and bowled just one over for 10 runs in the first T20I. He scored 23 and picked up a wicket in the second T20I.

Barry McCarthy

McCarthy scored an unbeaten 51 off 33 balls in the first T20I and took his team to a respectable total. He bowled just two overs for 14 runs. He picked up two wickets in the second T20I.

Craig Young

Young is the third seamer in this Irish attack. He took two consecutive wickets in the first T20I in the seventh over to give India a scare. All these bowlers will have their task cut out in the second T20I.

Josh Little

Josh Little is the fourth seamer and will bat at number 10. He recently played in the IPL for Gujarat Titans and is the only Irish player to play in the IPL. He was expensive in the second T20I going for 48 runs off his spell.

Gareth Delany

Delany will conclude the likely Ireland playing XI for the second T20I. He is the specialist spinner in this attack. The leggie has picked up 37 wickets in 61 T20Is. He is likely to replace Benjamin White in the XI.
