Michael Vaughan Reveals Truth Behind His Twitter Rivalry With Wasim Jaffer

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan revealed the truth behind his regular Twitter banters with former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer. During a conversation with India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, former English skipper Michael Vaughan revealed about the incident when his rivalry began with Jaffer.

Michael Vaughan and Wasim Jaffer engage in Twitter fight regularly, however, in a healthy and funny manner. Recently, Vaughan trolled Jaffer after the latter got out for a duck in Legends League Cricket 2022 match. Earlier, Jaffer had trolled Vaughan after the England team got all out for 68 in an Ashes 2021-22 Test match last month.

It Goes Back To 2002! Michael Vaughan On Twitter Rivalry With Wasim Jaffer

When Ravichandran Ashwin asked Michael Vaughan the reason behind his continuous rivalry with Wasim Jaffer on Twitter, Vaughan said that it goes back to a 2002 Test match at Lord’s. The former England all-rounder said that Jaffer was his first Test wicket.

“Well, he was my first Test wicket, Wasim, so it goes back to 2002 where he snuck a ball up the slope at Lord’s and was out caught at first slip. So, he can’t have been that good with the bat if he got out to me,” Michael Vaughan recalled.

During the England vs India 1st Test match at Lord’s in 2002, Wasim Jaffer slammed a half-century in the 2nd innings. However, he got an outside edge off Vaughan’s delivery and was caught by skipper Nasser Hussain at slips.

Vaughan also said that he also picked Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket in the same series but the latter was nice to him. He also mentioned that he enjoys his Twitter fights with Jaffer.

“Yeah, but you know Sachin was just being nice to me but Wasim actually wasn’t bowled. He got the outside edge. Oh we have a bit of fun. I really enjoy. I’m sure he would have something by now, but I haven’t seen Twitter today, so I’m waiting,” he further said.

Wasim Jaffer and Vaughan continue to troll each other on Twitter. Whenever India or England comes up with a poor show, they take a dig at the moment by tagging each other. Jaffer is a former India Test player. Jaffer is also known to be one of the funniest players on Twitter. He always comes up with interactive memes and pictures on social media.
