Bangladesh take on Pakistan in the final league game of the tri-series in Christchurch on October 13. The Tigers have lost all three games and cannot make the final now. Pakistan and New Zealand will play the final on October 15.

Bangladesh lost their previous game against New Zealand by 48 runs. The Kiwis piled up 208/5 batting first with scores from Devon Conway (64) and Glen Phillips (60). Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan went for 40 off his four overs and then scored 70 with the bat.

Despite his efforts, Bangladesh fell short by a lot of runs. The series did not go the way they wanted and Shakib addressed the same in his post-match interaction.

“If we look at our three games, it’s been the same pattern; after 10 overs, we are losing a wicket every 2 overs, not ideal we are always looking at building an innings instead of chasing. We are not that far [on a settled batting order]. We don’t have many options to be honest, we know what exactly the team will be heading into the World Cup.”

“We gave all the guys a game so that we understand what will be the best combination at the World Cup. We will come here and look to win the game. If we win, it will give us momentum. Tomorrow’s game is a very important game for us” said Shakib ahead of their game against Pakistan.

From the hot and humid conditions in Pakistan and UAE, both teams now find themselves in much cooler conditions in New Zealand. They will take some time to settle down with the given weather conditions.

The final T20I between Bangladesh and Pakistan begins at 3 pm local time in Christchurch which is 7.30 am IST. The match thus begins in the afternoon and the weather conditions will be good for cricket with sunshine around. There will be a few clouds as well. The Hagley Oval has hosted just eight T20Is so far with the Kiwis scoring over 200 runs in the previous match.
