Rohit Sharma To Captain India In T20 World Cup 2024, Fans Believe

As the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the complete schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and Rohit Sharma featured in the poster, fans began to speculate that the modern-day batting great will lead India in the marquee tournament.

Notably, Rohit Sharma alongside Virat Kohli has not featured in any T20I games for India National Cricket Team since the defeat in the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Hardik Pandya has been leading the side with the No.1 ranked T20I batsman Suryakumar Yadav as his deputy. Pandya suffered an injury during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and missed the subsequent five-match T20I series against Australia at home and the three-match T20I series against the Proteas away from home.

In both the Australia and South Africa series, Suryakumar Yadav took over the leadership role and did a good job. However, he too suffered an injury and will miss the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Afghanistan National Cricket Team at home and India will have to pick a different captain, which could be Rohit Sharma

There are rumors of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s return to the T20I setup very soon and recently a few reports emerged claiming that the modern-day batting greats have made themselves available for the format.
