Yash Thakur gave Lucknow Super Giants a much-needed first breakthrough in the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals in style by castling the dangerous Jos Buttler.

After LSG finished their innings on 196/5 the Royals started their chase on a good note. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler helped their team race away to fifty runs inside five overs. With both the batters well set, it looked like RR would finish the powerplay without losing any wickets.

However, Yash Thakur dismissed Buttler to give his team a much-needed wicket. On the fifth ball of the sixth over, the right-arm pacer sent back the England star who has scored two centuries in the ongoing IPL 2024. It was a low full-toss on the pads from Yash Thakur and Jos Buttler shuffled across before trying to play it on the on side.

However, he failed to make good contact with the ball and the ball went on to hit the leg stump. Buttler departed after scoring 34 runs off 18 balls with the help of four fours and one six.

Earlier in the game, LSG posted a big total of 196/5 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. The hosts were off to a disastrous start as they lost the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis inside the first two overs. However, captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda scored half-centuries to bail their team out of trouble. They shared a 115-run stand for the third wicket.
