SL vs PAK: "Hasan Ali's Selection Is Debatable" - Rashid Latif Questions The Criteria For Representing Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket Team is all set to play a Test Series against Sri Lanka commencing in July.  Former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif has questioned the selection panel. According to Rashid Latif, the management hasn’t stuck to the performance criteria.

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) selection panel have shown faith in Babar Azam despite the side failing in the crunch moments. The Men in Green weren’t able to assert dominance against the likes of England & New Zealand despite playing in their home conditions.

Pakistan needs someone in the middle order apart to take responsibility. The side is way too much reliant on the skipper Babar Azam which is not a good sign. All eyes would be on Sarfaraz Ahmed as the batter had a brilliant comeback to the international arena when he struck a ton against New Zealand in the 2nd Test match in 2023.

It would be interesting to see how Pakistan fares in Sri Lanka as the pitches would assist the spinners which would give a huge advantage to Sri Lanka. We should not forget that when these two teams clashed against  each other then the series was squared in 2022 by 1-1

Shan Masood’s selection is not justified –  Rashid Latif

Rashid Latif was seen speaking on his You-Tube channel and questioned Shan Masood’s selection. Rashid Latif stated that the selection panel should give evidence before naming a player in the squad

“If you are using data, then that means you have selected Shan after turning your computer off, However, our computer is on. We need evidence when judging the selection of someone. I am not getting evidence of Shan’s selection. His selection is not justified,” said Rashid Latif.

“There is no doubt Hassan is a good bowler and gives his 100 per cent. However, if I look at his recent stats, what justification would I give regarding his selection? His selection is debatable. When you are lacking spinners for this tour, you could have taken Mehran Mumtaz, just to give him experience,” he added.
