T20 World Cup 2024: "Dinesh Karthik makes the most comeback.."- Rohit Sharma's bombshell on India's wicketkeeper

An unseen video clip of Rohit Sharma talking about comeback king Dinesh Karthik in the Great Kapil Sharma show is going viral all over social media platforms. 

Therein, Kapil Sharma asked about the superstitions that players follow before matches and who is the one that follows most of those rituals. Both of the guests - Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer agreed on the name of Dinesh Karthik, who is currently playing in IPL 2024 for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

While responding to that question, Rohit Sharma, in his vintage Mumbai dialect, confirmed that Dinesh Karthik was the one who had a lot of superstitions.

Rohit then quickly changed his statement from "he used to" to "he still has". It was Rohit's way to point out the wicket-keeper batsman's longevity and claim that DK is also the one with the most comebacks in the Indian team. 

The Indian captain then highlighted Dinesh Karthik's number of comebacks and hailed the Karnataka-based cricketer for bringing a new superstition each time. Rohit then narrated an incident from India's tour of England back in 2018. 

India were batting at Lord's Rohit was watching the match with his teammates and Ravichandran Ashwin was sitting next to him.

It was Dinesh Karthik's turn to bat next and all of a sudden, he baffled Rohit Sharma with a superstition of his own. Rohit narrated that DK started doing push-ups and then stood up abruptly and started doing skippings with a rope. 

That startled Rohit Sharma, who then asked him what he was up to. While Karthik did not say anything, Ravi Ashwin, who sat next to Rohit, asked the latter to let DK do his thing and that it was just his new quirk.  

"Dinesh Karthik had a lot of superstitions. Dinesh Karthik used to have, Dinesh Karthik actually has. The most comebacks into the Indian team have been staged by Dinesh Karthik. He has made at least 15-20 comebacks. Whenever he comes back, he brings something new with him." 

"When he came back this time, it's a story from 2018. There was a match in Lord's, we were watching the match and he I think was next in the batting order. Then suddenly he started doing push-ups beside me then stood up and started doing skippings on the spot. It startled me and I was like 'What are you doing man'. Ashwin was with me. He told me it was one of his new quirks and asked me to let him be." - Rohit Sharma said via the Kapil Sharma Show.

Dinesh Karthik and RCB get back to winning ways

Meanwhile, in IPL 2024, Dinesh Karthik and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru got back to winning ways last night with a 35-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

It was only the South-Indian outfit's 2nd win of the season and first since beating Punjab Kings on March 25th. RCB will be taking on Gujarat Titans in their next league game on Sunday, April 28th.
