Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was happy to be part of the tri-nation series set to be hosted by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.

The series will include Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh and will help the players get used to the conditions they might end up facing in the ICC tournament down under.

I am pleased that we will be featuring in the tri-series in New Zealand as it will help us to arrive early and not only acclimatize for the T20 World Cup in Australia but also give final touches to our preparations.”

I missed the last series in New Zealand due to a thumb injury and look forward to playing cricket in Christchurch against two good oppositions,” said Azam on Tuesday.

Pakistan is one of the favorites for the tournament, especially after their performance in the T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE last year. They made a flawless run in the group stage, winning all 5 games before losing to eventual champions, Australia.
