Bangladesh faced a defeat in their previous Test series. In May this year, Bangladesh hosted Sri Lanka for 2 Tests. The 1st Test ended in a draw while Sri Lanka managed to win the 2nd Test. As a result, Sri Lanka won the Test series 1-0.
