Yet another player speaks on the absence of Virat Kohli’s in the Asia Cup 2018. This time, it is his teammate and ace-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. However, the classy off-spinner feels Team India has covered a lot of bases despite Kohli missing out in the team.

Ashwin sees a lot of confident batsman in the team and personally, he added that 2-3 batsman will turn the game in favour of India. Further, he felt that it would be a great relief for Pakistan not to bowl Kohli.

The off-spinner, as a bowler, feels the opposition playing with the absence of their consistent batsman will give a sense of relaxation.

Speaking of Pakistan’s point of view, Ashwin feels that their bowlers would be very relaxed. He went on to add saying that the absence of Kohli certainly wants other team members to deliver big.

Ashwin concluded the topic by saying that the team has got enough potential to fill the slot.

“Inside the dressing room, everybody has got the skills to be able to step up on the big day and be a match-winner. I do believe a couple of them will turn a match around in every single game. Every batsman in that dressing room is extremely confident of taking on any bowler in the world. But the man we are talking about is Virat Kohli,” Ashwin told.

“So as a bowler if I feel there is a batsman in the opposition lineup who is being hunted for and he’s not playing that particular game, there is a sense of relaxation or the relief that I might get,” Ashwin said.

”From the Pakistani dressing room’s side, there will be a lot of relief. And Virat Kohli not being in the team is also going to be a big hole to fill up for any player who comes out to bat at No. 3. But I think that team has got most spaces covered,” he added.

Chance for the youngsters:

However, as Ravichandran Ashwin said, the selectors picked the solid team in the absence, Virat Kohli. The likes of Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey and KL Rahul are eagerly waiting to rule the roost.

It is also the best chance for the team members to prove that the team is not solely dependent on Kohli for every single game. Meanwhile, there are many careers at stake for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
