Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2018: Mustafizur Rahman Cleared to Play Tests

Finally, Bangladesh can take a sigh of the relief after the scans of Mustafizur Rahman came positively. The flamboyant fast bowler has cleared off any injury concerns ahead of the Test series opener against Zimbabwe.

Rahman set to return to Tests

Meanwhile, the southpaw sustained an injury in the first ODI of the three-match series against Zimbabwe. As a precautionary measure, Bangladesh management rested him for the third ODI to keep him fit for the Test series.

Thankfully, there measure worked out, as Mustafizur Rahman recovered in time to be available for the Test series. However, it is a comeback for the fast bowler to the white jersey after missing out for the series against the Windies in the recent past.

“There was nothing serious in his scan report. And, we are hopeful that he will be available from the opening Test,” BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury told Cricbuzz on Tuesday.

“We have given him some rest [reason for his brief stay in Dhaka]. The pain can diminish on its own by taking some rest or it can be reduced by medication,” he added.

Mustafizur Rahman to join the team on Wednesday:

The news would certainly be the big boost for the team. They already lost the services of their ace players like Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, as both got sidelined due to respective injuries in Asia Cup 2018. Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman is expected to join the team at Sylhet Cricket Stadium on October 31st. The first Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will mark the debut for the new stadium in Bangladesh.

However, it will be a two-match series between the duo. The first is scheduled to start on Novembers 3rd while the second Test will be played at Shere Bangla Stadium, Dhaka on November 11th.
