An excellent batting effort from Trinbago Knight Riders helped them beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 46 runs in a high-scoring encounter at Warner Park on September 1 (Saturday) in CPL 2018.

Trinbago Knight Riders started slowly, as they lost Sunil Narine cheaply. Alzari Joseph shredded fire with the new ball, as he removed Chris Lynn shortly with Trinabgo reeling at 34 for two. Since then, Brendon McCullum and Colin Munro started to revive the innings sharing a stand of 78 runs for the third wicket.

Moreover, Colin Munro remained unbeaten on 76 runs off 50 balls while McCullum chipped in with 35.

Later, Dwayne Bravo played a late cameo of 37 runs off just 11 balls smashing five sixes and one four to take the total to 200 runs. Alzarri Joseph was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets while Sheldon Cottrell and Carlos Brathwaite picked one wicket each.

However, in reply, Captain, Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis started their innings on a good note. However, brilliant delivery from Anderson Phillip got Chris Gayle out, as the ball did enough to get Gayle’s edge. Meanwhile, Lewis continued his good run with the bat smashing 52 runs off 37 balls including five sixes and two fours.

Anderson Phillip returned with three wickets including that of  Evin Lewis. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots couldn’t build a long partnership amongst them. However, when Evin Lewis was showering sixes, Phillip bowled a fantastic delivery to show him the way back to the pavilion.
